We had a rehearsal with
the combined choirs in the morning, then some recreation time on the UofO lawn.
After lunch, we had a workshop with the guest clinician, Sandra Snow. Full Cantori
worked with her, then Troubadors. We worked mostly on breath control and stamina,
which she was quick to identify as our main weakness.
We had a PBA rehearsal to work on Carmina Burana and some Troubador music. It
wasn't the best rehearsal, so the boys had a rest period, after which they had
some shopping time while the Music Staff attended a conductor's workshop with
Dr. Snow.
After dinner was the third and final Sharing our Songs Concert, with the Bel
Canto Children's Choir, the Columbus Indiana Children's Choir, the New Jersey
Youth Chorus, and the Mississippi Girlchoir. It was another hot day, 98 degrees!
After the concert, PICCFEST provided shortcake for everyone. Outside, the boys
sang a piece for girls from the the St Louis Children's Choir. We came back
to Carson dorm for tour journals and showers.
Mrs. Low has been kind enough to do the boys' laundry daily, providing handwritten
invoices. Nobody has paid yet (the invoices aren't real). The boys' rooms are
inspected daily. They're having a good time. The boys who are new to Cantori
touring are doing an excellent job. The staff is incredible, keeping the boys
safe and happy, taking photos and footage for the wesbite.
