It was a long day! We were fortunate to have the same bus driver, Mr. Warren, for the second day. We drove from Portland to Eugene, with one rest stop. Timothy and Josh put together the movie that is linked above. We went over some of the Tour Guildelines, talked about the concert, and got a chance for a rest period.
Arriving in Eugene, we put our stuff on our floor of our University of Oregon dorm. We broke into chaperone groups for lunch, and came back for the PICCFEST orientation. We have our own guide for the week, Emily, who helps us out to get from place to place. We had a rehearsal before dinner, our first meal of the festival. The first notes of the festival were the Troubadors' singing in Wednesday's Sharing our Songs concert. There are three of these concerts. They sang very well to a very generous and enthusiastic crowd, made up mostly of the children from the other choirs. The Willammete Girlchoir sang after Troubadors, followed by Lyrica from the Oregon Festival Choirs, and Divisi, a female a cappella group from UofO. After this great concert, there was a reception, and then back to the dorm for bedtime.
The PICCFEST website will be updated daily with photos from the festival.
