Herzogenaurach, Deutschland

back to the 2002 tour page

The 1000-year parade was rescheduled to the morning due to the World Cup. We had a great spot for the parade, and were given food and drink by our host choir. After the parade, everybody found their preferred spot for the World Cup final. Deutschland was of course defeated, but most in the town conceded Brasil had the better team.

The boys sang at the evening mass, then a concert in the church. Great acoustics! We took the concert outside for some more informal music, and the people cheered and applauded for the boys.

This is not the same Troubador group that sang in Seattle and Portland. Ever since Vienna, they have come together as a team, reaching a higher level than they previously thought was possible. There is more energy and more focus, and we are gaining the respect of all our hosts. Every place we stop, the boys choose to check the acoustics in the local churches, and a crowd gathers to hear them! We have been invited back to every place we have visited, and the boys are starting to realise their potential.

Last stop: Wiesbaden

The parade had 150 groups, thousands of participants. These people wave the Nürnberg coat of arms.

Don't forget your sunscreen!
Hans Sachs, Renaissance leader of the Meistersingers
The boys sing in St. Magdalena
The concert goes outside for the Strauss waltzes!
