St. Florian and Linz, Austria

back to the 2002 tour page

In the morning, we went to the school, where Herr Farnberger, director of the Florianer Sängerknaben, gave us a tour. The school is in the abbey, and he gave us a tour of both. We saw the tomb where Anton Bruckner is buried, and we saw everything at the school, including the gym, the pool, and the soccer field. In the afternoon we went for a guided tour of Linz. After our tour, we rehearsed at the Minoritenkirche, and then had our concert at 7:00p.m. The concert was amazing. Great acoustics made for a great concert, perhaps the best ever given by the PBA. Hooray!

The organ in the St. Florian Abbey. Anton Bruckner played this organ, and his tomb is in the catacombs, underneath the organ. This is not a postcard!

This is the pool, just outside the monks' summer refectory. The pond in the foreground was the preference of the Florianer boys last year.
