Auckland, NZ

As we boarded the plane, full of enthusiasm and excitement, we were awed by the 747-400's size and upper deck. It didn't seem like coach in Air New Zealand's large, comfy seats. Excitement mounted. As the plane's engines roared, the plane took off as the excitement level peaked. Then, with the plane flying smoothly, and people started settling in, the boys began to calm down. The food was...not the best...but not the worst. We prepared for a long trip. Movies were shown, but they weren't the best. The drone of the engines became background noise.
When the plane landed, all were happy and relieved. We prepared to get our bags and go through customs. After all the bags were checked and all the bags accounted for (5:30 a.m.), the first stop was McDonald's. At McDonald's some of the boys enjoyed the PlayPlace. Next: bus tour in the rain! We were shown some sites of Auckland, then stopped at the War Memorial Museum. We split up into chaperone groups to tour the museum.
After a nice time learning the history of New Zealand, we had a much appreciated lunch. Next stop: rehearsal. We were driven to St Matthew's church to rehearse. The space was wonderful to sing in.And with our billets matched, we prepared for a much needed sleep.
