A boy's treble voice lasts only a few years. By the
age of 13 or 14, most boys will never again in their lives be able to
make the sounds that typify a well-trained boys choir. The Pacific Boychoir
gives boys with potential the opportunity in these few years to become
professional singers, to sing with other choirs, on recordings, with orchestras,
and for audiences across the country and around the world.
The educational aspects of music have been well-documented. With music
as a vehicle, boys also learn responsibility, how to work as a vital member
of a team, how to present themselves, and the value of striving for excellence. Though it takes
some hard work, singing in the Boychoir is of course fun! Performing provides
once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. To be a successful member of the Pacific Boychoir, boys need: The Pacific Boychoir Academy is looking for boys age 4-9 who like to sing (boys age 10-18 with previous experience are invited to audition as well). Currently, there are about 100 boys in the after school program. The last Wednesday of each month, boys are invited to visit rehearsal and audition to be part of the PBA. Boys interested in auditioning for the Boychoir can call the choir office or send
an e-mail to the PBA. The auditionThough a musical background is helpful, the Boychoir does not require auditionees to have previous musical experience. The purpose of the audition is to determine
