After School

The After School Choirs are the founding program of the Pacifc Boychoir.  Starting out with six boys in 1998, the program has grown from two levels to seven, with an age range of 4-18 years old. The music faculty of the Choir are professional music educators and performers, with experience working specifically with boy singers. The goal of this program is to provide the best possible choral education in an extra curricular setting, leading to a high level of musical performance

In addition to providing a fine music education, the after school choirs promote self-discipline and citizenship. The program includes summer camping and touring opportunities.  The after school music program begins with an early childhood class for preschoolers (no audition required) and continues throughout high school. Auditions are generally accepted from boys in grades K-5, and no previous musical experience is necessary. Boys who join the After School Program may decide to apply to the Day School, which includes grades 4-8.  Whether boys sing in the After School Program, or the Day School, they may continue in the Choir throughout their Middle School and High School years, ultimately participating in our program for basses and tenors.

The Pacific Boychoir is a community organization that is not affiliated with any church, ethnic group, or specific geographic area, and welcomes boys of all ethnic, economic, and geographic backgrounds. Currently in the Pacific Boychoir, there are about 175 boys from four Bay Area counties.
