The
Spring Serenade was a rare opportunity to hear all the boys of the
Pacific Boychoir in one concert From Minstrels to Continuum, boys
and young men age 5-19 showed four octaves of expertise and repertoire.
This was the last time to hear some of the choirs before the headed

Santa Clara Chorale and the Pacific Boychoir joined forces for the

APRIL
26-29, 2007
 The
PBA boys joined Charles Dutoit as he conducts the SF Symphony in
Hector Berlioz's The Damnation of Faust. This was the tenth
set the Pacific Boychoir has sung with the SF Symphony, and the
first time the PBA has performed this piece. The PBA was joined
by the San
Francisco Girls Chorus and the San Francisco Symphony Chorus
at Davies Symphony Hall.

23-25, 2007
 Pacific
Boychoir soprano Jack Lundquist sang the part of the Youth in Mendelssohn's
Elijah with the San Francisco Symphony. (Visit the PBA

Herbert Blomstedt conducted three performances at the end of March
2007 at Davies Symphony Hall.

2-3, 2007
In
1915, the 80-voice Moscow Synodal Choir premiered Rachmaninoff's
famous All-Night Vigil, or Vespers. Few know that this choir was
men and boys. The Pacific Boychoir recreated these performing forces
of Rachmaninoff's premiere in two concerts. This was possibly the
first time an American boys choir performed the Vespers. Also on
the program was Barber's Agnus Dei, the choral setting of the Adagio
for Strings.

JANUARY,

Four soloists from the Pacific Boychoir joined the American
Bach Soloists (hailed as "the best American specialists
in early music" by the Washington Post) for four performances
of Bach's New Year's Cantatas. In this unique set, Bach's most festive
cantatas featured boy soprano and alto soloists from the Pacific
Boychoir: Jack Lundquist, Henry Nelson, Adam Kutny, and Malcolm
Lane.

JANUARY
16, 2007
The
Pacific Boychoir made its commercial DVD debut with a cameo appearance
in Live at the Purple Onion, a DVD released by comedian
Zach Galifianakis. Zach has appeared in movies and television, including
his own Comedy
Central special. The DVD, released on Netflix in January 2007,
features material from the Purple Onion, a comedy club in San Francisco's
North Beach. Zach is known for playing piano in his sets, and you'll
just have to see how he works a boys choir into things.
(Disclaimer: while the part with the boys' singing
is harmless, the DVD is otherwise full of adult language and subject
matter. Parental discretion is advised.)

The
Harmonies of the Season concerts have become a highlight of the
holiday season in the Bay Area. The Troubadors and Continuum of
the Pacific Boychoir are internationally renowned for their rich
and pure tone, bringing life and magic with them every time they
sing. Featured works were the jubilant Rutter’s Gloria with
the Menlo Brass
and Francis Poulenc’s reverent Quatre Motets pour le Temps
de Noel (Four Motets for Christmas).

Pacific Boychoir is the featured choir for the inaugural issue of
Boy Choir
Magazine, an online magazine covering choirs around the world.
Artistic Director Kevin Fox, Troubador Carey Appeldorn and his mother
were all interviewed for the issue, which is online in readable and
Podcast formats. The Also in the issue are interviews with British
composer Gabriel Jackson, internet radio broadcaster Joe Cowden, and

Pacific Boychoir sopranos Henry Nelson and Jack Lundquist joined the
UC Berkeley University Chorus for Mendelssohn's Elijah, with full

For
the first time, the PBA headed to Denmark. The choir school choristers
joined the the Herning
Boys Choir of Denmark to perform Durufle's Requiem on November
5 and 6, 2006. You can follow the tour here.

SEPTEMBER
24, 2006
Members
of the Pacific Boychoir joined choristers from across the country
for a special evensong at Grace Cathedral. Last year, the Boychoir
has honored to be part of the first Michaelmas
Choral Festival. This year's festival was also the occasion
of the seating of Bishop Marc Andrus, recently elected Eighth Bishop
of California.

SEPTEMBER
9-10, 2006
The
Pacific Boychoir joined the Pacific
Collegium in two performances of Duruflés Requiem, commemorating
the fifth anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy. The concerts were benefit
concerts, with proceeds going to the National Disaster Search Dog
Foundation.
